We are all interested to improve our circumstances. Are we interested to improve self? As we focus on self-improvement, circumstance automatically changes.

In this world every one of us has got 24 hours. If you are spending more time on the area of concern, where you don’t have any control or influence, then you are spending less time on yourself and on the area of influence. If you are not spending time for your growth, you will be left behind. You can keep on improving your intellectual (IQ), emotional knowledge (EQ) and Spiritual Knowledge (SQ) to grow throughout your life. If you are sound financially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually then only you can take care of others. The more time you spend on yourself for your growth, your area of influence will increase as you will be able to contribute to more people. The more time you spend on your ‘area of concern’, your area of influence decreases. For example, our former president Dr.Abdul Kalam has spent more time on his growth to improve his intellectual. Therefore now he has got influence on more number of people.

To be successful in your life you must prioritise your time in the following manner:
1. Spend time for your self growth
2. Spend time for your near & dear ones
3. Then you if have got any time left spend for society.

If you want to help the society, you must be independent. Only independent people can be interdependent.
Work-life balance is about balancing your time. Every body in this world has got 24 hrs in a day, whether you are the head of the state or an ordinary citizen. God has been equal to everyone in this aspect. We can divide these 24 hours in three equal parts of 8 hours and use them judiciously.
To lead a balanced life we can divide our 24 hours into three divisions of 8 hours: 8 hours for yourself, 8 hours for work and 8 hours for others including wife, children, parents, neighbour, relatives and friends.
Minimum 8 hours to be devoted to yourself.
Minimum 8 hours to be devoted to your work. Initially you may have to devote more than 8 hours time to work. This extra time to be adjusted from the time allotted for others, not from the time allotted for yourself. You must keep your 8 hours for yourself, and then only you can progress in your life. You must strive to achieve your concentration to get maximum output during work time. Slowly you will find 8 hours is enough to lead a successful and happy life.
Maximum 8 hours to be devoted to others. Initially at the beginning of your career you will not get enough time to spend for others unless you have organised yourself well in advance. Most of the people neglect work and themselves, and give importance to others. Later on they regret for the mistake. Please don’t commit the same mistake again after going through this manual. Others will give importance to you when you give importance to yourself and your work. Your salary and income will improve when you devote time to your work and yourself, then only you can contribute to your family and friends financially.

If you want to help your family, relatives, friends and the society, you must be financially, intellectually and emotionally stable and independent. Only independent people can be interdependent.

Preface
Ever since my first book: 9 Secrets, the Ultimate Success Strategies
was released, most of the readers of the book have asked me to
make a student edition. This book is the result of encouragement
and inspiration from the readers of my first book. They felt this
kind of book will help the current generation to shape up their

career.
Strategy is a bundle of actions to be taken to achieve a goal. Goal is
your blueprint for success. Unless we have a plan or blueprint to
construct a building we will not get a constructive result. Therefore
it’s essential to have a written goal to construct our career. The most
important goal of any student is to pass out from their respective
institute with flying colours. In this book you have all the strategies
to be successful in your student days and in your
career thereafter.
If you want to play a game, you need to be aware of
the rules of the game. Then only you can play the
game well and enjoy. You have to accept your role
that you have been given to play. Are you ready to
accept the role of a student or getting carried away
with the movie heroes?
Student period of our life is to create foundation so
that we can grow with strong roots. Most students
are looking for immediate result. It takes time to set
roots.
Bamboo takes four to five years to set its root before
it comes out to grow. Once it comes out on the
ground, it grows 4 to 6 inches in a day. While you are setting your roots you may not have enough time to interact
with friends and participate in every fun activity. Friends may start
teasing you as a fool. People who ever achieved extraordinary result
in their lives, were initially criticized or labelled as fool; because
they only could see their long-term outcome or vision.
Fear of criticism is one of the biggest obstacles in
the path of success. Criticisms are your feedback
that you are going to be an extraordinary person in
the future. Coal had to go through extreme
temperature and pressure to become diamond.
You are a rough diamond; dealing with criticism is
polishing the diamond that is you. Wish you all the success in your
student life.

Fear of rejection is the biggest obstacle in the success of our sales career. It holds back us from seeing more and better prospect, and translating those calls into more and better sales. The starting point of overcoming fear of rejection is to realise that it is not to the individual. Rejection has nothing to do with you as a person. The prospect does not know you well enough to reject you as an individual. To repeat: rejection is simply not personal. Everyone is bombarded with so much sales proposals in our commercial society that ‘NO’ is a standard response to any sales proposal.

Selling is all about converting big ‘NO’ to ‘YES’. As mentioned above ‘NO’ is the standard response in every proposal as our prospect does not know to what he/she is saying ‘no’. Therefore the first step is to convert our prospect from ‘NO’ to ‘KNOW’. To convert ‘no’ to ‘know’ we should take the initiative to know him. If I take the initiative to know him, then he will also come forward to know me. Every action has got equal and opposite reaction, that’s the law of the nature. We can make rules but not laws. If you take the initiative to know your prospect, the prospect will also take the action of knowing you. It may take time; therefore patience is another trait to be developed by sales professionals. People are not interested in the product or services; everyone is interested in themselves. First you have to take interest to know your prospect. To know our prospect, we should respect our prospect. To respect them, we should respect their decision. To respect their decision, we should appreciate or complement of their possessions and what ever they are good at. Every individual is having some bad qualities as well as good qualities. Our job is not to focus on their bad qualities but on their good qualities. This is to be done genuinely. Some of us may not have the skill of appreciating others, but this can be developed through practice and taking a conscious effort over a period of time and later on it will be a habit for you to appreciate others.
You can appreciate anything and everything whatever you find good in other person: We can travel in an ordinary car or wear an ordinary dress to cover our body or live in an ordinary house. Why does a person take so much pain, effort and initiative to decorate his house or office? Why does a person go for a designer’s dress or expensive car? There is an inborn craving to be appreciated by others. Does it cost you anything to appreciate others? No, but rarely we do that. We always try to find fault in others.
If you appreciate a person, he will feel good and happy. If a person feels good & happy, he will also find the ways to make you happy (Action ↔ Reaction).
Below I am mentioning a magic formula which I have used during my sales career. You can appreciate anything whatever you find good in that person. If don’t find anything specific to be appreciated but everyone is having a family, everyone does some work and everyone takes part in some activities to recreate him. We can enquire and show interest in their areas of interest. But you have to be careful while asking questions. You must respect their privacy. It should not create an embarrassing situation.

The magic formula is F.O.R.M.
F: Family - How are your parents? How is your child/son/daughter (use name if possible)? Appreciate him/her for being a good father/ mother/ son/ daughter.
O: Occupation – What you do for your living? How did you come to this business/ profession? Then appreciate about the good aspects of his job.
R: Recreation – I can see that you are working hard. What you do to take out your stress? How do you recreate yourself? What kind of sports do you enjoy? Do you have any hobby (interest)?
-------
M: Message: What for are you there?
** (We discuss in detail during training workshop.)

Positive mental attitude is essential to succeed in sales. A positive mental attitude is best defined as a constructive response to stress. It is a solution-oriented, objective approach to the difficulties and challenges we face each day. The most important aspect in selling is the art of asking questions and listening patiently to understand the client; so that you can provide the right solution to the client. Then ask for business and close the sale.
Leadership is not in possessing but in action. Leadership needs creativity to lead people. Leadership is all about taking responsibility and leading from the front by setting examples and putting into practise rather than giving big lectures. When you take responsibility of your every action, you become creator. Leadership is the first creation. Management is the second creation. Management is the bottom line focus: how can you accomplish certain thing? Leadership focuses on the end result: what are the things need to be accomplished.

As a leader you need to take decision and communicate your decision to your subordinate and superiors to delegate the task to be carried out by your subordinates. We take decision on the basis of our thoughts, values, beliefs, perception and awareness. Again it’s not what you communicate but how you communicate your decisions or ideas makes you a better leader. The Programme has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the present fast changing corporate scenario. Our training programmes are totally experiential with lots of role plays, games and individual exercises.

People who achieved extraordinary results in their lives, were
initially criticized or labelled as fools; because only they could
see their long-term outcome or vision. Fear of criticism is
one of the biggest obstacles in the path of success.
To be successful in this world I have to defeat this dreaded enemy -
fear of criticism.
Fear of failure is the surest way to failure.
Those who don’t do anything extraordinary in
life don’t attract any criticism. Criticism is a part and parcel of
a successful life.
No one has ‘learned’ from their birth. We learn through making
mistakes. How many times have you fallen down while learning
to walk? Please don’t get afraid to make a mistake just to avoid
criticism. Criticism is your feedback that you are going to be
an extraordinary person in the future. Coal had to go through
extreme temperature and pressure to become a diamond, and
this diamond still needs cutting and polishing before it can be
valuable. You are a rough diamond; dealing with criticism is
polishing the diamond that is you.
It is not what others do, but our own mistakes that hurt us the
most; it is our response to those provocations. What people say or do is under their control. But how you will react is under your control. You can have control on your thoughts, and thoughts are generated from your mind. Mind control is the result of self-discipline and habits. You either control your mind or it controls you. There is no half-way compromise.
What I realized the most practical of all methods for controlling the mind is the habit of keeping it busy with a definite purpose, backed by a definite plan with a definite time bound goal and by keeping my mind clean.
